Bioethics Module

Bioethics

Focuses on addressing competing values or goals in health-related life sciences.  It explores how development in science and medicine affect us.  Bioethics also explores various complicated dilemmas and determines innovation that cause no harm as well as advancements that are ethically sound. 


Guiding Principles of Bioethics

Justice

The overarching goal of an action is to ensure that we treat others equitably and fairly.

Respect for the Person

It acknowledges the right of an individual to make his/her decision, to hold views, & to take actions based on personal values and beliefs.

Nonmaleficense

It's our obligation not to do harm onto others.

Beneficence

Our actions should benefit others.
